WOMEX Radio Studio

Artist interviews, animated discussion, live, impromptu performances by WOMEX artists, and the all-new EBU Radio Sessions…

In recent years, the WOMEX Radio Studio has seen it all, and proved to be a musical goldmine. For all broadcasters attending WOMEX, this is the place to be: get your music and your story on the airwaves both within Galicia and throughout Spain and the world! The studio is equipped to handle both pre-records and live broadcasts, so however your show is made, it can be made at WOMEX.

It's not just broadcasters that get all the fun, though, as all delegates are invited to visit the WOMEX Radio Studio, to watch the shows being made, watch the live sessions and maybe get involved in a debate or two.

For WOMEX 16, the Radio Studio was run in cooperation with Radio Galega (Galicia, Spain), with EURORADIO of the EBU (European Broadcasting Union) and NRK (Norway).

EBU Radio Sessions

In 2016, WOMEX and the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) presented a new format offering intimate musical explorations during the daytime Trade Fair to all WOMEX delegates.

As part of the WOMEX Radio Studio, the EBU and its partners offered live music sessions with artists of the WOMEX Official Selection and other WOMEX artists performing in intimate settings in front of an audience of world music lovers. The sessions were recorded and/or broadcast live and offer an additional platform to learn more about the WOMEX artists and get insights to their stories.
