The Conference is the think-tank of the creators, makers and shakers of world music, and is for registered delegates only.
Here is your chance to instruct, inform and inspire. Working language is English.

Calling all informative, interesting, educational and/or controversial speakers to present their topics in our daytime Conference programme. We prefer the "one-speaker, one-case" infotainment type of Conference session, but every format is possible, including institution or project profiles, artist presentations, country/genre/hot news briefings, live celebrity interviews, expert advice... or anything else that you believe should be there. The normal Conference session length will be 45 minutes, longer sessions could be considered in special cases. Include enough "open-mike" time for discussion.
The selection will be made in consultation with the 7 Samurai of the WOMEX Jury. Proposals arriving after deadline, Friday 18 April 2008 cannot be accepted.

Please note that WOMEX is not in the position to cover any fees, travel or other costs. We will, however, extend a free registration to the main speaker/chairperson of a session (only one free registration per session). WOMEX will also provide the Conference room, necessary equipment, and a special PR treatment (presentation of speakers and session in the Guide, on the website, in our newsletter etc.) for every session.
