BEWARE OF THE EXPO/FAIR GUIDE!
Expo Guide
Recently we have heard from several WOMEX delegates that a new
company called Expo Guide based in Mexico is sending out
misleading mailings - very similar to the Fair Guide mailings from
Construct Data (see below).
Please read all incoming mailings asking for your data update in
exhibitor listings/directories/fair or expo guides etc. very carefully, the
small print in particular!
Though we cannot say if this is the same company as Construct Data
Verlag, what we wrote about them last year also applies to the Expo Guide.
StopECG has published basic advice here

(un)Fair Guide
Construct Data Verlag is once again sending out their Fair Guide "update" requests to WOMEX delegates. As before, if you don't read the small print you might think it is from WOMEX. It is not: We are in no way affiliated. Only sign if you want to pay over 1000 euros per year to be listed in their guide. For more information, see www.stopecg.org/construct_data_fairguide.htm. (This is an independent site and we cannot vouch for its accuracy.) We note that the site indicates that the letters you are receiving do not conform to a legal judgement that went against Construct Data Verlag.
If you have been contacted by Construct Data after 13 February 2007 and have signed their Fair Guide update offer because you thought it was sent by WOMEX, please let us know . We will then notify the Austrian "Schutzverband gegen unlauteren Wettbewerb" (association against unfair competition) hoping that we can contribute with it to stop Construct Data from sending out misleading mailings.
