... and then comes the music. All night. Every night. During the day, too. The Showcases continue our policy of presenting the widest possible range of global music stars, secrets and discoveries, with or without a record contract. Every year WOMEX presents around 3 dozen exciting Showcases.
WOMEX invites a new group of seven Jury members - the famed 7 Samurai - to work on the Showcase selection.
The deadline for Showcase proposals was Friday, 17 April 2009.
First Showcase Announcement
We are extremely happy to announce the first WOMEX 09 Showcases. We'd like to thank the seven Samurai for the hard and dedicated work they have put into this year's selection from over 760 proposals. We will be releasing the artist's names in three sittings, but would like to send you some of the first who are already confirmed.
