Cerdd Cymru : Music Wales is a partnership between Welsh Music Foundation and Wales Arts International / Arts Council of Wales, that brings together the music industry and musicians in Wales to develop international opportunities that benefit Wales economically and culturally.

Cardiff Council, Cardiff and Co, Motorpoint Arena and Wales Millennium Centre are Directors of Cerdd Cymru : Music Wales and it is supported by the Welsh Government and British Council.

Arts Council of Wales is an independent charity, established by Royal Charter in 1994. Its members are appointed by the Welsh Government’s Minister for Housing, Regeneration and Heritage.

Our principal sponsor is the Welsh Government. We also distribute funding from the National Lottery and raise additional money where we can from a variety of public and private sector sources.

We are the country’s funding and development organisation for the arts.

Wales Arts International facilitate international work in the arts through collaborations, projects, networks and communication.

They provide advice and support to artists and arts organisations from Wales who work on an international level. They are also a contact point for international artists and arts organisations working in Wales.

Wales Arts International fosters international artistic excellence in Wales and ensures international impact and recognition for the arts and culture of Wales

Welsh Music Foundation

Welsh Music Foundation (WMF) exists to assist in the development of the music sector in Wales by way of specialist business support and industry led representation.

WMF does this in a number of different ways including hosting seminars and workshops for music businesses, its advice and information service, coordinating trade missions for companies looking to export, signposting to business support and funding and representing the need of the industry to Government. WMF also ensures that the particular needs of the Welsh language industry are identified and addressed.

WMF is core funded by the Welsh Government as part of its strategy to support the creative industries in Wales.

Wales Millennium Centre was opened on 26 November 2004, by Her Majesty the Queen. Since then the Centre has achieved extraordinary success, gaining a reputation as an outstanding performing arts venue, locally, nationally and internationally. It has welcomed millions of visitors from Wales and beyond, making it the most popular tourist attraction in Wales, and one of the UK’s most visited cultural attractions outside London. The Centre has five performance spaces, including the 1900 seat Donald Gordon Theatre, is noted for its quality acoustics.

Motorpoint Arena Cardiff is located in the heart of the city and provides a focus for business and entertainment in Wales.

This multi-purpose venue has become first choice for many concert goers and event organisers and their customers. Hosting a variety of events from world-class concerts and entertainment to conferences, sporting events, exhibitions and trade shows it attracts in excess of 500, 000 patrons each year.

The IMZ is the global association for all those involved in any aspect of audio-visual music and dance. Its 150+ members include broadcasters; performing arts companies and venues; programme producers and distributors; record and DVD labels; cinema and new media specialists: all the participants in the creation and dissemination of music in the media. The largest are international brands like the BBC, Metropolitan Opera New York, and Universal Music; the smallest are individual composers, choreographers, musicians or directors.

Since it was founded in 1961 under the aegis of UNESCO the IMZ has dedicated itself to the worldwide development and promotion through audio-visual media of all forms of classical, jazz, world and contemporary music, as well as classical and contemporary dance.
