Getting Around in Cardiff

By Foot
Cardiff is an accessible city and Cardiffians pride themselves on saying that you can walk from one side of the city to the other in 900 seconds (or 15 minutes) paced at a brisk walk!

Bus
It is a 6-minute bus ride from Motorpoint Arena (bus stop: Customhouse Street JG) to Wales Millennium Centre (bus stop: Cardiff Bay, Wales Millennium Centre) on the Cardiff Bus BayCar No 6 service route. The bus runs daily every 10-20 minutes and offers an enhanced service from 08:00 - 01:00 throughout WOMEX 13.

Delegates can purchase discounted travelcards to use on the No 6 BayCar route. These passes offer unlimited travel on this route (WOMEX day pass at £3.00/WOMEX week pass at £13.00). These passes are available to purchase at the daytime venue (Motorpoint Arena) from the Information Desk as well as from the Tourist Information Centres in Cardiff city centre and Cardiff Bay. Please note that buses do not offer change and you should have the correct fare ready when paying the bus driver. Find detailed bus times and routes throughout Cardiff on the Cardiff Bus website.

Car
There are various parking options near Motorpoint Arena in the city centre – please note that a fee is normally charged. There is a 24-hour multi-storey car park close to Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff Bay – for details and prices visit the Wales Millennium Centre website.

Train
It is a 4-minute train journey from Motorpoint Arena (train station: Cardiff Queen Street) to Wales Millennium Centre (train station: Cardiff Bay). Trains run approximately every 12 minutes from Monday to Saturday until shortly before midnight. The journey costs £1.60 for a single ticket and £2.20 for a return ticket.
