NORDIC COUNTRIES SHOW STRONG PRESENCE AT WOMEX
WOMEX & IMZ OFFER PLATFORM FOR WORLD MUSIC IN AUDIO-VISUAL MEDIA
Dear Media Colleagues,
It seems that summer holidays are over, emails are flowing in again and our phones have re-started ringing all day long - the busy pre-WOMEX time has begun.
NORDIC COUNTRIES SHOW STRONG PRESENCE AT WOMEX
Following on from the success last year, the WOMEX Trade Fair will be housing a Nordic area again in 2010. Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland have already confirmed their participation at the spacious Nordic umbrella stand again.
Bodil Høgh, organiser of the Nordic exhibition at WOMEX and international project coordinator at the Danish Arts Agency - Music Centre, affirms: "To have WOMEX here in Copenhagen is a great chance for both Danish artists and music professionals. We can introduce our local music to the world, be inspired by a wealth of showcasing artists from the most diverse backgrounds and meet labels, publishers, promoters, agents and the like from 90 countries in our capital city."
And to compliment this will be the special Nordic nigts on Thursday, Friday and Saturday inviting the delegates to discover the music of WOMEX's current home region. The Nordic Club will be featuring local pearls from Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Iceland.
Altogether the WOMEX Showcase Festival will run five stages on three nights at Danish Broadcasting's spectacular DR Koncerthuset offering maximum sound quality.
The Nordic Club at WOMEX presents:
- Elisabeth Vatn - Piper on the Roof Ensemble (Norway)
- Esbjörn Hazelius (Sweden)
- Frigg (Finland)
- Henrik Jansberg (Denmark)
- Maria Kalaniemi & Vilda Rosor (Finland)
