Call for WOMEX Host City Proposals

Dear Media Colleagues,

While the preparations for WOMEX 10 in Copenhagen are in full swing, we are already scanning the horizon for the next WOMEX hub.

WOMEX is looking for a new host city for the year 2013. Applicants interested in bringing WOMEX to their (reasonably-sized) hometown should contact Daniela Teuber at daniela.teuber@womex.com in June for further information on terms and conditions.

Since its very beginning in 1994, WOMEX has travelled all across Europe from Berlin (1994), via Brussels (1995), Marseille (1997), Stockholm (1998), Berlin (1999 + 2000), Rotterdam (2001), Essen (2002 + 2004), Newcastle (2005), Sevilla (2003 + 2006 - 2008) to Copenhagen (2009).

In 15 years, WOMEX has grown from 200 to 2,700 delegates from over 90 countries including 650 exhibitors at 280 stands at WOMEX 09. 57 showcase acts from 43 countries were presented on 6 stages. More than 60 speakers in about 30 conference and mentoring sessions inspired professionals from all over the world.
