WOMEX IS HEADING NORTH
MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT: WOMEX 09, 10, 11 IN COPENHAGEN
WOMEX, the World Music Expo, is pleased to announce its next location
Copenhagen, Denmark - for a three-year residence from 2009 - 2011.
After a total of four years in Sevilla, Spain (2003, 2006 - 2008),
WOMEX heads north to this hospitable Nordic capital.
WOMEX is partnering with key Danish players from the fields of music,
events and tourism, all with extensive experience in both culture and
production. First and foremost, the partners comprise the Roskilde
Festival, the Copenhagen Jazzfestival, and tourist organisation
Wonderful Copenhagen. Additional partners are events producers
Welcome, the Danish Center for Culture and Development, Global CPH
and World Music Denmark.
"Each year we seek enhancements and opportunities," says WOMEX
General Director, Gerald Seligman, "and the chance to team up with
Roskilde, who will be producing the showcases and lending their
experience to local event management and community outreach, was a
determining factor in the move. Add to that the expert teams
Copenhagen has assembled, and we can look forward to some thrilling
possibilities. As WOMEX matures and expands, these are the kinds of
partners we need to help us bring an ever-greater service to our
community."

Want to make contact with a Showcase artist at WOMEX? Come to the
"Meet the Artists" sessions - open to everyone, both delegates and

All artist conferences are held in the VIP Room at FIBES (on the
right side of the Cúpula when you enter the building, close to the
Auditorium Al-Andalus).

details. Every registered delegate has his/her own page - you do too.
Here you'll find email addresses and phone numbers. And, if they (and

clearer idea of anything and everything they do. Log-in to
virtualWOMEX to see how useful this tool can be.
All WOMEX 08 delegates get access to virtualWOMEX free of charge for
one year (after registering, all delegates for WOMEX 08 receive their
log-in data by email).

MOSHITO 2008 - A HUGE SUCCESS
South African’s Moshito conference has come to a close and by all
accounts, it was a huge success. With numbers up 10% to 600 delegates,
and a 30% increase in exhibitors to 48 stands, organisers were well
satisfied. “Now in its fifth year, Moshito Music Conference &
Exhibition has demonstrated growth beyond anticipation,” said Chairman
Arnold Mabunda.

ACPCultures - CALL FOR PROPOSALS
The EU-ACP Support Programme to Cultural Industries in ACP Countries
is funded by the European Commission, managed and implemented by the
Secretariat of the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States
(ACP). It is open to the 79 African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) Group
of States and the European Union Member States that are signatories to
the 9th European Development Fund (EDF).
ACPCultures is calling for proposals of 2,3 million euros - deadline:
28 November 2008.
The strategic target is to strengthen the ACP cultural industries
domain by supporting cultural actions that demonstrate an outlook that
goes beyond local and national interests, able to generate a distinct
ACP-integration added value.
