Preparation begins for another WOMEX edition - our 14th, during which time we have grown from 200 to 2.800 delegates...
Get ready to propose a Showcase artist, Conference session or Film for WOMEX 08, 29 Oct - 2 Nov in Sevilla, Andalusia, Spain! The proposal submission is now open.
Deadline for all proposals is Friday, 18 April 2008.We have once again invited colleagues in the community to join the WOMEX Jury 08 and help keep the selections fresh, diverse and truly representative of the great music out there... The so-called 7 Samurai will work on this year's Showcase selection and consult on the Conference.

Calling for world music artists and DJs... Come perform at the premier world music Showcase event on the planet!
With so many proposals coming in – last year there were over 640 – we are adapting our submission process so that we can give the jury more time to evaluate each artist’s music. This year they will have weeks, not days, to familiarise themselves. We can do this by enlarging our partnership with Sonicbids - the online meeting place for people who make music, and people who need music.
Sonicbids’ Electronic Press Kit (EPK) and streamlined proposal process are as easy as it gets: artists can submit with the click of a mouse (okay, a few clicks), and we receive the information in consistent, easy-to-navigate presentations.

WOMEX Conference Proposal
The Conference is the think-tank of the creators, makers and shakers of world music. Here is your chance to instruct, inform and inspire.
This year we are placing a special emphasis on industry analysis, attempts at prediction and on problem-solving. But every format is possible, including institution or project profiles, artist presentations, country/genre/hot news briefings, live celebrity interviews, expert advice...
