Roots South West present: ___ Live and Direct ___ In partnership with WOMEX, the World Music Expo.
A one-day conference examining the world, folk and roots industry with a focus on concerts, touring and festivals.

Roots South West and Colton Hall Bristol, in partnership with WOMEX present a day long event for the British roots, world and folk music industry.
You are invited to check your diary for a major one day UK symposium to be held on Wednesday April 22nd this year. The programme will include of a key-note speech followed by sessions, networking time, lunch and an evening showcase.
The theme for the day is live music and will include representatives from the festival industry, touring consortia, promoters, agents, musicians and managers.
Keynote speaker TBC. Plus, Gerald Seligman, Director of WOMEX speaks on "The Industry Crisis: Has it finally hit the live scene? An international view". Mark Ringwood on visa issues. News from the UK Bhangra scene from Ninder Johal of UK Bhangra. Programming events from Guy Morley of the Big Chill and Brighton Festivals. An introduction to Black Routes, the new consortium for touring African and Caribbean music and a chance to meet Music Beyond The Mainstream and hear about their past work and future plans.
An evening showcase headed by two time 2009 Radio 2 Folk Award winner Jackie Oates and band...
