We can finally divulge the nighttime venue for WOMEX 10...
ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE WOMEX NIGHTTIME VENUE
We are very happy to announce that Copenhagen's high-profile venue, DR Koncerthuset, will host all WOMEX night showcases for the second year. Prime sound quality was the distinguishing mark of last year's showcase production according to your feedback. The striking Jean Nouvel building will be accommodating all WOMEX stages under one roof.
The "blue cube" recently received the Wallpaper Design Award 2010 in the category "best new public house". The complex consists of 4 halls with the main auditorium seating 1,800 people and is run by Danish Broadcasting (DR). It was inaugurated in January 2009 after a 6-year construction period.
WOMEX is also looking forward to collaborating with the Roskilde Festival team once again. They contributed a significant part to last year's perfect concert conditions for the showcases.
The nighttime venue DR Koncerthuset and the daytime venue Forum Copenhagen are on the same metro line M1 - only five stations away. Shorten your way back home to the hotel after the night showcases by booking a hotel/apartment close to metro line M1 running throughout the night every 15-20 minutes.

The WOMEX survey confirms that the trade fair is the most important element of your yearly WOMEX experience. WOMEX 09 saw 650 exhibiting companies from 62 countries at 280 stands. 2,700 delegates from 92 countries attended the the 5-day event altogether.
Present your business, new project or artist rooster with a booth at WOMEX. Make it easier for customers and potential partners to find you in the WOMEX crowd.
On account of the great number of small-sized independent companies which make up our international world, roots and folk community, we offer mini booths with a standard set-up at a comparably low price (same as last year!).
The trade fair arrangement at the new daytime venue Forum Copenhagen differs considerably from last year. It's one big hall encircled by a gallery on the first floor. Conference areas and daycases will be closely integrated, inviting everybody to stop by.

The trade fair will be open from Thursday through to Saturday only. Join us on Sunday for the highly appreciated WOMEX Awards Ceremony and a final Networking Breakfast.

Every participant receives his or her bag containing the WOMEX Guide, the WOMEXimizer CD and lots of useful information. We are currently ploughing our way through to prepare for the Jury meeting. You will be notified whether your showcase/conference proposal made it into the WOMEX selection in the first half of June at the latest - before the Smart Rate deadline on 18 June.
The notification for the film proposals will probably be sent out
in July. Don't worry - you will still be able to register at
the Smart Rate if you would like to come to WOMEX but your film was
not selected.
