This week brings more long-awaited programme announcements to satisfy your curiosity and whet your appetite for WOMEX 12, taking place in Thessaloniki, Greece, from Wednesday, 17 to Sunday, 21 October 2012.


IMZ FILM SCREENING SELECTION ANNOUNCED


The increasingly popular Film Screenings are presented in cooperation with IMZ International Music + Media Centre, Vienna. If you are a filmmaker, TV/film programmer or festival organiser - this is your platform for world music in audio-visual media.

This year's very promising programme is presented over three days from Thursday to Saturday. It consists of 17 music documentaries produced in 12 different countries, including three from WOMEX's new host region: two films from Greece, one from Turkey. A huge thank you to the IMZ team for their tireless efforts in curating the selection.

INTERNATIONAL MUSIC EDUCATION CONFERENCE, 15-20 JULY, THESSALONIKI


The International Society for Music Education (ISME) will be holding their 30th World Conference in Thessaloniki, from Sunday, 15 to Friday, 20 July 2012. International delegates will meet in Greece to discuss this year's theme: 'Music Paedeia: From Ancient Greek Philosophers Toward Global Music Communities'. The conference will be followed in the evening by a concert programme in the park, which is open to the public.
