First, what is Sonicbids?

Launched in 2002, Sonicbids is a website that makes it easy for bands and artists to submit their press kits online to festivals, clubs, and other performance opportunities. With a membership of 120.000 bands and artists from 100 different countries, and with over 10.000 music promoters using the site, Sonicbids has become the universal standard for connecting artists with performance and licensing opportunities. Events currently using Sonicbids include South By Southwest, MIDEM, Popkomm, Iceland Airwaves, CMJ, Eurosonic, Virgin College Mega Tour, In the City, Canadian Music Week, the Billboard Song Contest and of course, WOMEX. Here's how it works:

• All submissions for the offWOMEX/Sonicbids Showcase night on Thursday 25 October 2007 in Sevilla must be proposed through Sonicbids. For its existing members, Sonicbids charges a 10 US Dollar fee. Sonicbids is even making it easy for new members with a free three-month membership for those of you new to the site. The same 10 US Dollar fee applies.
  
  
• Deadline: This is a special opportunity, so act now. 15 August 2007 is the deadline.
  
  
• What is WOMEX looking for? We are a world music conference, trade fair and showcase. We are open-minded and happy to consider any music falling within the myriad genres of world music. These include world, roots, folk, ethnic, traditional, alternative world, local and diaspora music. The music can be traditional or modern, electric, electronic or acoustic...
  
  
• To qualify, be sure to include all of the following:
  • A full press kit with your biography, reviews and discography.
  • Your stage-plan and technical rider with full instrumentation.
  • A minimum of three (3) full songs.
  • Any available videos that show what you're like on stage.
  
  
  
• The three artists selected to perform at offWOMEX will all be notified by Friday 24 August 2007.
  
  
• Sonicbids is providing 1.000 Euros to help each of the three artists' offset travel costs. All other expenses must be covered by the artists themselves. Since these are showcases, WOMEX does not pay fees for performing artists. Submitting artists must be able to organise all financing for their performance.

Finally, when artists submit, they will be sent an email by Sonicbids confirming their submission.
