A Word about WOMEX 09 Registration and Stand Pricing

We approach this, our 15th anniversary edition of WOMEX. Coming into Copenhagen, we made two commitments: first, to raise overall production standards, and, second, in recognition of the music industry crisis, to keep prices as low as possible, even the same in the vast majority of areas. This despite our own production costs having risen quite significantly.


We are happy to report that we have largely succeeded in both endeavours. WOMEX 09 will be hosted in a state-of-the-art conference centre, the nighttime Showcases (venue to be announced shortly) will be hosted in a simply spectacular venue all under one roof – AND prices have been held to 2008 rates in nearly all areas. To accomplish this, however, we did have to make a few small compromises.


1. Basic registration fees stay the same for delegates and media... with the only change being in the Company Rate for the 4th delegate onwards.


2. Basic trade fair costs stay the same, even though our own costs for the trade fair space have increased. To accomplish this there was a choice to make: either increase prices or decrease size. We assumed that these financial times demanded the latter, so the size of the stand went from 2 x 4 square meters last year to 2 x 3 square meters this year.


3. Don't let the Danish VAT scare you! The 25% rate can be reimbursed for professionals outside Denmark:
