And you, the WOMEX delegates are invited
In recent years some of the best performances took place at the Radio WOMEX Studio. Come join us for an intimate chance to meet Showcase artists. The delegates loved it; the broadcasters, too... Said Lucy Duran,"Every year, BBC Radio 3's World Routes covers events at WOMEX, which usually involves chasing people around the site and struggling to find a quiet corner for interviews, but last year's WOMEX Radio Studio in Seville meant that we could set up in one place and record live sessions with the best sound, and with a live audience too! Plus - having a dedicated Radio Studio at WOMEX allows delegates to find out at first hand more about the different approaches and styles of radio stations from around the globe in their coverage of world music."
Said Daniel Brown of Radio France International, "For me, it provides an oasis from the mayhem of the WOMEX Trade Fair, where musicians and journalists can enjoy a frank exchange in a professional environment; and where the acoustics are perfect for showcases and interviews."
Said Johannes Theurer, "The studio was the option to broadcast live from WOMEX – Radiomultikulti couldn‘t have done without it… All in all a highly recommended opportunity to make interviews and have short sets of music during WOMEX. Real progress for travelling journalists. THANK YOU GUYS!"
And, added Susan Ohori of KSFR-FM in Sante Fe, New Mexico, "I am most appreciative and hope it will continue to expand."
Check the daily interview schedules for exclusive interviews and live performances. All are posted near the Media Counter and outside the Radio WOMEX Studio.
This year’s studio is provided by NRK, in collaboration with WDR form Germany and NPS from the Netherlands.
