London based, Genre-busting Multi- Instrumentalist Koby Israelite ,mixes Balkan music with Gypsy rhythms, classical flourishes, electronic noise, wit and the hard-hitting energy of rock. The trio is a new project that sees Koby join forces with virtuoso Tabla player Minta Singh and renowned Tuba player extraordinaire Oren Marshall. Together they create an acoustic, dynamic soundscape packed with humor and virtuosic flare.
Having released 4 albums with the cult label Tzadik, Koby has toured extensively across Europe and the Middle East headlining major festivals and earning a loyal following.(koby has collaborated with renowed artists from different genres: from madonna to John zorn and Taraf De Haidouks to Gilad Atzmon. In the context of the Trio, Koby reinterprets material from his back catalogue with a more intimate, folky bent, incorporating iphone solos and electronic colors into traditional melodies along music that was specially composed for this trio.
