BLOU

BLOU is the first Acadian group
to attain such a high level of success
in the international francophone community.

BLOU has been performing in many festivals and international cultural events since 1994, including: The Calgary Folk Festival, Les FrancoFolies de Montréal, The Great Falls Balloon Festival in Maine (USA), European tours (Ile de Ré, Bordeaux and Limoges (France), Brussels (Belgium), Le Festival Settembrinu di Tavagna (Corsica), Congrès mondial acadien in Louisiana (USA), Hannover International Expo 2000 (Germany) - an impressive itinerary indeed!

These very talented musicians have a vast repertoire of original, contemporary and traditional music. Originating from Nova Scotia's Acadie in Canada, their music is inspired by their Acadian roots, which is both a source of ingenuity and creativity.

BLOU's music is made up of ancient and new eclectic sounds spiced with powerful rhythms and originality capable of making you live a truly memorable experience. Furthermore, their charisma, artistic abilities and high-energy all add up to extraordinary performances.

Some important highlights in BLOU's career in 1999 include winning an East Coast Music Award for Francophone Recording of the Year, as well as an Éloize for Artist of the Year in Music. They are the first Acadian musical group to sign a distribution contract for the European market with their first album ACADICO. The future is even more promising for their second album RYTHM'N BLOU.
