moving cultures is an initiative of the vidc (Vienna Institute for Development and Cooperation) promoting the arts and culture. It is an Austrian lobbying and competence-centre for the arts and cultures from Africa, Asia and Latin America. The objective is to enabel a dialogue based on equality an plurality of the different cultures. The projects undertaken are multi-dimensional, by providing a stage for professional artistic and cultural events, information on development policy and global issues, and to enabel encounters for personal exchanges.

moving cultures is funded by the Austrian Development Cooperation (ADC) and provides the following services:

- booking of performing and visual artists

- ki.la - intercultural children`s program

- advisory service for intercultural projects

- information on contemporary art and cultural production in Africa, Asia and Latin America

- financial support for cultural projects in Austria, funded by a microprojectfund provided by ADC

- "the arts of infotainment" - special artistic and intercultural productions for private companies, municipalities and other public or private organisations
