Calavento Duo’s "Ponte das Cordas" (meaning Bridge of Strings) takes us straight to Brazil’s countryside: the highland plains of the central plateau. This is cattle country, and the music was inspired by the remote, wild landscape and the sound of the “berrante”, the horn trumpet typical of this area of Brazil. This song is dedicated to Orozina and Damião, a local couple who welcomed the duo into their home.
Calavento is a Brazilian duo who brings grace and virtuosity to the unusual guitar-violin combination with new compositions and their own arrangements of traditional songs. On stage they bring a theatrical touch to their shows, as the artists tell stories, bring the repertoire alive and take on the trait that each song brings out.
