LURRA is a professionnal choir composed of 9 french lyrical singers. This kind of choir called « Otxote » is the original way to perform basque songs : 8 choiristers and 1 choir director : Jordi Freixa.
Jordi Freixa is an expert in the basque repertory. He enables LURRA to understand and respect the basque traditional style.
The programme includes both traditional and sacred a capella songs.
If this songs pass on emotion, beauty and strength, they also show the wealth of the basque language (the oldest in Europe), the strength of the traditions and a real openmindness.
Lurra in Basque language means "land" in french.
