Born Berber at Ait Attab in the Moroccan middle-Atlas, Aicha Redouane sings since her childhood. At six years old she begins to learn the music of Oum Kalthoum. Afterwards, she moves with her family to the south of France, where she started studies in architecture. Fascinated by the classic Arabian music of the Near East, she listens with passion and assiduousness the masters of the classical style founded in the Maqâms: Al Hamuli, Mohammed Othman, Salama Higazi, Yusuf Al Manyalawi. She discovers the vocal Egyptian tradition of last century, the Nahda tradition, and begins to study it. With the percussionist and musicologist Habib Yammine, she founds The Al Adwar Ensemble, a small Takht (traditional orchestra) and performs in various concerts and international festivals. Aicha Redouane has become one of the most valuable voices of the Arabian song, recently, the "Théâtre de la Ville" in Paris, gave her tribute with an outstanding concert.
