Paris was the breeding ground for a joyous collision of six French musicians with a passion for Ethiojazz, a Malian diva and an American slammer that has evolved into an inspired international party of unity, powered by intricate grooves and poetry in Bambara, English and French. Arat Kilo have been nurturing their Ethiojazz obsession since they surfaced with their debut album, 'A Night in Abyssinia' in 2011. The follow-up, 'Nouvelle Fleur', appeared in 2013 and featured guest appearances by Mulatu Astatke, Rokia Traoré, Socalled and Boston rapper Mike Ladd, who stayed on to lend his poetic skills to the current incarnation, now graced by the presence of Malian singer Mamani Keita, bringing her wealth of experience as collaborator with Les Amazones D'Afrique, Salif Keita and Electro Bamako. The new, unified album is called 'Visions of Selam'.
