Marina Pittau was born in Cagliari, Sardinia. From her earliest childhood she was inspired by the melodies and rhythms she heard around her. In 1982 she arrived at Paris, where she began to study music and had her first stage experiences singing the traditional songs of her native. After obtaining a diploma in classical singing at the Conservatoire Populaire in Geneva, she has taken part in many concerts, festivals, radio and television broadcasts in Europe and, recently, Morocco. She works with some of the island's most remarkable musicians, creating a colourful mixture of the 'musical mysteries' of Sardinia, and the cosmopolitan sensibility of this very fine sing.
