Horizons Stage (Special Focus)

A Scottish-Irish super-duo formed by two of the brightest young stars of Celtic music. Ross Ainslie, nominee for Musician of the Year Award at the BBC Folk Awards and highly sought after on the Scottish contemporary folk scene for his skill on Scottish pipes, whistles and cittern, has played with the likes of Flook and Salsa Celtica. Jarlath Henderson is a three-time All-Ireland Champion Uilleann Piper and BBC Young Folk Musician of the Year Award winner, who has also found the time to become a doctor. They first started playing together in 2003, taking their time to hone their boundary-pushing mix of traditional tunes and original compositions which finally turned the heads of the wider world with the 2009 release of their critically acclaimed debut album, Partners in Crime.
