A high energy roots dance band, who play an original, carefully crafted mix of Cajun, Reggae, Celtic and Funk (with a sprinkling of East European influences just for good measure). The West Country's best kept secret is out...and about time!

'To fully fit the bill they should add "and perfect summer-time music." And that really is the case. I've been listening to this album over the past couple of weeks during some of the warmest, sunniest days and it's been the ideal accompaniment. But - and here comes the clever bit - on those other days, those on which the clouds blanketed the sky and it was just a little cooler, playing HL&S gave the wonderful illusion that the sun was still shining.' Rob Darnell - Lead & backing Vocals, Accordion, Mandolin, Whistle, Percussion
Charlie Stubbings - Guitars, Backing Vocals
Dave Preston - Bass
Dave Vaughan - Drums
Simon Swarbrick - Fiddle

"With a manifesto boasting to melt Cajun, fast folk (whatever that is,) R&B, reggae and a hint of soul together in one big sounding whole, they've a lot to live up to. The opening Rise Up almost fulfils the claim alone, a great stew of folk and rock steady where it's hard not to think of E2, but credit where it's due and FFF keep their shape, pulling out a corking kick off. Other monsters lurk in the running order. Never Say Never is one of those rolling Albion melodies that most would give their eye teeth to write - nice one Charlie Stubbings. She's An Alien comes over as muscled Cajun root with Eddie & The Hot Rods drive, Cold Heart is a touch of Oysterish bop, and Cajun Moon bravely unites Thornas Dolby with an Irish fling." Simon Jones, Froots July 2001
