One of the musicians at the forefront of the music explosion taking place in Canada's East Coast. A singer-songwriter of whom it has been said ..."of some of the best writers living today, Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, Bruce Cockburn and Joni Mitchell. You can add Lennie Gallant to the list" (Performing Songwriter). "Gallant takes chances musically, and the results are spectacular..." (The Buzz). His live performances have been described as "passionate","inspiring" and "soulful". Touring with a full band. Lennie has recorded 5 critically acclaimed English albums, but his most recent CD fulfilled a long held dream of recording an album in the language of his roots. The album, Le Vent Bohème, has received much praise in the French press and a great deal of airplay on radio. It won him Male Artist and Francophone Album of the Year at the 2003 East Coast Music Awards, Acadian Artist of the Year in music at the 2003 Gala Éloizes, and Album and Artist of the Year at the 2003 Gala des Étoiles.

As a performer, Gallant's intense delivery reaches down to the very soul of his audience, moving effortlessly through stirring narratives, comic observations, and hard driving rhythms. He has toured extensively on the continent and abroad playing festivals and concerts accompanied by roots rock bands, symphony orchestras, and in acoustic settings. He has composed a wealth of material which has been recorded by over 30 artists, including Jimmy Buffett on his recent album he also co-wrote the theme song for the first Congres Mondial, Acadie de Nos Coeurs . Gallant was recently named to the "Order of Canada" for his contribution to the cultural fabric of the country….. "Mesmerizing and Evocative" The Globe and Mail
