To those in the know, Belinda O'Hooley & co-songwriter and vocalist Heidi Tidow are one of music's best kept secrets. They are gradually earning wider acclaim due to their irresistible mixture of well-crafted songs, close harmony work and a liberal sprinkling of humour. "Someone said we combine self-penned songs and poignancy with a touch of Hinge and Bracket" said O'Hooley. Belinda was formerly the songwriter and pianist in Mercury Prize nominees Rachel Unthank & the Winterset before leaving the band and linking up with Tidow. Recognised for her songwriting and virtuoso piano playing, she has been praised for making fantastic, lasting and important songs. Preparations to record their debut album are underway. Tours already this year with Chumbawamba, and recently with Radio 2 folk award winner Jackie Oates have brought them new fans with charismatic performances "that can summon a tear as easily as a smile" Spiralearth.com
