Africa Oye Festival and Oye Touring and Trading

Experience: Event Planning and Management, Artistic Programming, Sponsorship and fundraising, Brand development, Tour Management, Learning and Participation project implementation.
I was born in London in 1968 and moved to Liverpool in 1999 and I am currently in my 15th year working at Africa Oye which in my time has grown from a very modest Event attended by a couple of hundred people to one of the UK's most popular festivals attended by 40,000 people over 2 days every June in Sefton Park Liverpool.
I am responsible for the creation and development of the Festival, one off Events and Learning and participation projects in Schools Colleges, and Institutions.
I am also Director of our subsidiary organisation Oye Touring and Trading which is part of the Black Routes Touring Network which produces two UK Tours every year.
Worked on the opening ceremony for the 2008 European Capital of Culture in Liverpool
Organised the MOBO Streetwaves Event as part of the 2010 MOBO Awards in Liverpool.
Won the Merseyside Male Achiever of the year in 2010 and was Nominated for the same Award in 2011
Guest Speaker at the MOSHITO Confrence in Jo’burg, South Africa 2012
Guest Speaker at the Atlantic Music Expo in Cape Verde 2013
Programmed Artists at the LIMF Festival 2013
