The concept behind Africa Unsigned flirts with the micro financing phenomenon, because with a small contribution from a large group of music fans artists can make a significant first step in their career. Africa Unsigned will scout African artists who currently have limited access to recording facilities and/or Internet. We have a network of studios and NGOs in Senegal, Kenya, South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mali. Studios in these countries will guide the scouting process and take care of the infrastructure that will emerge around the artists. Artists and local teams will promote the artists online and attract music fans who can invest directly in their favorite unsigned artists. When $10,000 has been accumulated the artist can hit the studio to record a professional album and start making money. A sustainable career in music is made possible for the African artists.
