BANDA INAUDITA

This ensemble has the characteristics of a classical chamber orchestra and the attitudes of a popular band that has developed a very particular style of its own.

The body of the ensemble consists of vocals, clarinets, violin or guitar; the addition of double bass and percussion fills and rounds off its warm, cheerful sound.

The repertoire is varied and aimed at a broad range of musical tastes. Banda Inaudita is not a traditional band but a group which composes new music with influences from flamenco, folk, chamber music and, most of all, jazz.

Especially the sound of the clarinet attracts our immediate attention. It brings the Yiddish klezmer music to mind, but it is not as heavy and fast, here it is gentle and relaxing, with a typical Southern European atmosphere.

The band gathers the talents of experienced musicians who audibly know their instruments very well. Over the years, they have managed to create a strong and solid style of music. Their open minded compositions will be liked by many. They don't sound experimental, they just enjoy playing atmospheric ethno-jazz with a Latin smile.

They created their own record company 'Vela Records' in 2002, and have released three CDs: 'Banda Inaudita' (2002), 'Banda Inaudita DOS' (2004) and 'CANCIONES INAUDITAS' (2007).

In the last years they have played more than two hundred concerts in Spain and UK, composed the originals soundtracks of the films 'El Furgon' and 'Onan', and collaborated in theatre and television.
