Agricantus (from the Latin, 'song of the wheat field') was the most important Italian band to world music. Their repertoire draws on the sounds of the desert and the outskirts of the world, but also the haunting rhythms of rock and traditional musics of the Mediterranean, from the 'taranta' by the South of Italy to the Middle East and North African folk. A mixture of sound made even more attractive from a set that combines ethnic instruments alongside the more sophisticated electronic technology.
