Lyrical evening of art songs, inviting the audience to a journey through Cuban Theatre and Salon music from late 19th to early 20th century. The artist presents different characters at the same time, changing masks and sexes in his particular amazing way , supporting and highligthening this changes with his huge vocal range from mezzo sopran to high barriton, creating a perfect illusion.

In all these performances he represents the mystic figure of a Shaman in function to link the worlds of the Elements and the duality of sexes, the metamorphosis of the universal forces and the transgender of Deities.
Ritual vocal dance performances as solo artist or with ensemble (half playback or live music 4 to 12 musicians, always including the use of an experimental sound track score, based on afro-cuban traditional Yoruba and Bantu rythms and chants)

In theses shows the artist leads the spectator with his huge range of voice and costumes through the worlds of transformation as from Victor to Victoria, Carmen to the Torero, Phantom to Christine and different personalities known in Cuban Zarzuelas (Operetta) etc..

Joaquin La Habana resides in Germany since 1981 and besides his intensive stage work he gave many seminars, lectures and workshops about Cuban culture and its European and African roots as well as he worked as a choreographer in many multi-cultural productions.
