The combination of carribean roots and free jazz improvisations connects the opposite music styles:
improvisation, spontaneity in salsa with rhythm of dance in jazz.
The orchestra was formed in 2009 by Martin High De Prime who plays piano direct from heart and create music which is the coal for the fire everyone has inside. Obsessed with the ghosts of afro latin rhythm they have the power to change the room with instruments into tropical dance hall. The transcontinental journey full of rhythm
and fun. Together with audience they massage the floor with their feet, connected with mother Earth having wonderfull time.
The jazz audience has often the prejudice against salsa genre that nothing changed for the last fourty years, but everyone who heard AFROBERLIN HIGH ORCHESTRA is impressed and come again because of their extraordinary sound ;-)

They play compositions written exclusive for the band. The current program is made from salsa titles from Julian Gretschel, 1st trombonist and arranger, who arranged as well Martin High De Prime’s compositions for the four blowers.. It gives a very earthy groove given by the five-parted rhythm group which includes the
percussive piano, African bass groove and carribean afro cuban percussion group of drum master "El Rey del Ritmo" Perez.
