Johanna Juhola in nutshell

Johanna Juhola in a nutshell:

Born:
1978

Zodiac sign:
Aquarius

Education:
Masters of Music at the Sibelius Academy Department of Folk Music

Professional highlights?
The feeling of being on the same "team" with the audience, the feeling of being at exactly the right place at a right time. The mutual bettering of each other with fellow players through a passionate musical performance, either on stage or at practice. To find that professionalism and childlike playfulness are the same.

Favorite books?
The Wallander series as audio books. I occasionally borrow some self-help books like "How to battle schedule problems" from the library. I'm sure they would be very helpful if I would find the time to read them.

Favorite film?
"La cité des enfants perdus" ("The City of Lost Children"), the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy.

What inspires you?
Bright colors, beauty in everyday life, innovative performative arts (especially dance), talented people, sometimes also things that I think have not been done properly.

Favorite cartoon character?
Pikku Myy ("Lilla My").

What instrument would you be?
Let's say, just from the top of my head, an old red stage piano which would be slightly out of tune in a funny way.

Favorite meal?
Various tasty vegetable dishes or fried salmon at a fine restaurant. I don't cook myself but luckily I enjoy non-gourmet dishes such as spaghetti served with ketchup.

What would you do if you wouldn't be a musician?
It would be interesting to be an illustrator, a dresser, a video artist or an architect. In other words, something creative and visual.

Your dream backstage?
I don't have any high hopes in terms of backstage offerings but sometimes it's nice to for example have a great view from the backstage window. My dreams are mostly connected to what's happening on stage, rather than backstage.

Your preferred mode of transportation?
I live driving a car because of the sense of freedom it offers. All in all, it's nice to travel with fellow band members as there's time to chit chat and plan future projects.

Your motto?
"Only dead fish swim with the stream" and "You can't undo something which has been done".
