Three Aito Records artists shortlisted for the Teosto Award


Nine works have been nominated for this year's Teosto Prize, given out by The Finnish Composer's Copyright Society. Three of the nine musical achievements shortlisted for the Teosto award in Finland are works by Aito Records recording artists. These nominees in question are
Compositions and arrangements by Eero Turkka, Eero Grundström and Jouko Kyhälä on the album 'Jarruta'by Sväng, Compositions by Markku Lepistö and Pekka Lehti on the album 'Helsinki' and Works by Tsuumi Sound System on the album 'Hotas'.

With the sum of 40 000 euros the Prize granted by the Composers' Copyright Society Teosto is the biggest music award in Finland. The prize will be given out for the sixth time on November 26, 2008. The Teosto Prize is not bound to any musical genre or style and accordingly the nominees represent the variety of Finnish music from popular music to folk, jazz as well as contemporary classical. The nominees and winners will be chosen on the grounds of the boldness,originality and innovativeness of the works.

Pekka Lehti, the founder and Label Manager of Aito Records is happy about the nominations: "This feels absolulety great!"

Aito Records is a Finnish company founded by musicians in 2000. Its back catalogue includes 14 albums of pluralistic Finnish world music
fusing together Northern tradition and influences from around the world. Acoustics and a natural, direct approach are important to the
label's soundscape.
