This album is Arto Tunçboyaciyan's very personal declaration of love - dedicated to his mother.
"Love Is Not in Your Mind" is a duo project with the outstanding pianist and keyboarder of the "Armenian Navy Band" - Vahagn Hayrapetyan.

All compositions are "book marks" in Arto Tunçboyaciyan's extraordinary life story and 35-years lasting carreer as a composer, multi-instrumentalist and singer:
born in Turkey in 1957 of the Armenian descent of the Anatolian roots. One of his greatest influences of music and life was his brother Onno, a musician himself, who encouraged Arto to develop his character not just as a brother but as a friend and as a musician.
At the age of 11, he began his career playing and recording traditional music with his brother, thus establishing himself as a professional musician throughout Turkey and Europe.
In 1981 Arto moved to the United States to explore new creative influences, to add a new dimension to his own vision of life, to escape from the subtile restrictions of identity he had to face as part of the armenian minority in Turkey. Since then, he performed concerts of his own music throughout the world.

All songs on "Love Is Not in Your Mind" are never ending "love stories" :
"Welcome Boo Boo" - an exuberant joyfull song for the birth of Arto's son Seto 19 years ago... or "New Flower" - a love affair with his new instrument "Bular" build by the great Armenian instrument maker Armen Blbulian some years ago - resounding fragile-melancholy moods about difficult human trials. The poetic power of the lyrics is expressed with a unique voice coaxe with hand-drums bakdav played with innocent happiness. In cooperation with Vahagn Hayrapetyan, a young pianist from Yerevan, Arto finds an alter ego to express his personal visions and experiences through sound:

"Many people confuse and misrepresent and misunderstand between:

· Love - Passion: What I know about love is that it means dedication, care, respect, honesty, commitment, support, taking care and sacrifice.
· Respect - Stupidity: Respect is you have to accept the rules of what life is offering you. Stupidity is a choice.
· Strong - Careless, Stubborn: If what you stand up for has respect, honesty, confidence, and dignity in itself, now, that's strong. Being stubborn can be good or bad. You have to know how to find the balance.
· Creativity - Popularity: I want to make the creative side the popular side. If you become popular with the market formula, that popularity is the end. If you become popular with your creativity, that creativity is the endless beginning.
· Experience - Age: Many people do not realize how important time is. Experience to me is memorizing the moment, recognizing and remembering the moment and knowing when is the time to apply it. You have to know how to live the moment.
· Mother - Birth giving woman: Because you are giving birth to your child doesn't make you a mother. Mother means dedication, patience, love, respect, honesty, supporting, care, taking care and sacrificing. That is what I have seen at my home and that is my mama. I never see her sleep before me or wake up after me. Always feeling her love being there for you, making balance at home, gives you great confidence and positive power. I am proud to have mama like you, and also my wife and my sister for being great mothers.

When I lost my mother on May 17th 2003, I was 46 years old. At that moment I realized that there is no age difference between a mother's and a child's love.
