Flor-de-Lis is a Portuguese folk music group which represented Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest 2009 in Moscow, Russia, following their victory in the 45th edition of Festival da Cancao, with the song "Todas as ruas do amor/ All the streets of love".
The band has as its principal influence the pop and the folk portuguese music. The most recent disc of the band, titled "Signo Solar/Sun Sign", is intended as a journey through world music, without forgetting the portuguese folk roots.
The singles "Ritmo do Mundo/Rhythm of the World", which alludes to the events of life and man's ability to adapt to the ups and downs, and "Adeus/Goodbye", that part of the inspiration of the poem namesake of Eugenio de Andrade, and in which "Flor-de-Lis" blend with the venezuelan waltzes, the tango and a bit of fado, are the major challenges for this year, succeeding the success of the themes "Lisboa Tropical/Tropical Lisbon"", "Maria/Mary" and "Valsa da Noite/Waltz Night".
A consistent and ambitious project that softly joins the traditional and the modern, and whose music letters and arrangements puts the band in a prominent place in popular portuguese and world music.
