Altertango

Altertango , celebrating its 20th anniversary performed last year at their home town in Mendoza , Argentina , in the theatre that saw them play so many times , full of people and love . that historical gig was recorded and released by Acqua records . that night they were designed as " of cultural interest " by Mendoza government . The creative process behind this album was also award-winning of one of the prestigious "becas del fondo nacional de las artes " from argentina , to the creation of an art piece . in the show participated great musicians from mendoza .
the new compositions are focused on the instrumental quartet , even though are also included previous hits as " Conspiración " , " Para siempre", "Jardin del Desierto" and the acclaimed versions of "Pena mulata " ( manzi / piana ) and "Tumbas de la gloria " ( fito paez)..
in the last few years , with part of the band based in barcelona , altertango participated in importants music festivals and markets as mapas ( TNF) , Circulart ( Colombia ) , Ciclo Vertiente ( Mza ) , Milonga Federal ( CCK , Buenos aires ), Festival Argentino ( Bern , Switzerland ) Nou Tango Fest ( Barcelona ) etc .

Altertango continues to be, at more than twenty years old, an icon of contemporary tango around the world and a fundamental part of its generation. Actually they are half based in Barcelona and move around Europe playing in different stages meanwhile they host a cicle of concerts in the prestigious venue " Jamboree " in Barcelona as part of the Nou Tango Festival .
