Musician, singer and composer, Andre Rafael began developing his musical gift in his youth. At the age of 15 he built up a small rehearsal studio at his parents apartment, and used to play at parties and at some schools festivals with his mates. After while he joined, as a saxophone player, the band called "Baia & Rock Boys".
In 1994, Andre was invited, playing keyboard,to join "Rotnitxe" , that became nationally known by the radio hit "Reggae da policia". The band toured the hole country, that was a great knowledge for his career. When the band broke up, Andre started to put a up his own band.
In 1996, he built up the AR Studios, an audio recording complex that has 3 rooms for recording and mixing , and it is been used since than from artists as Caetano Veloso , Sting , Paralamas do Sucesso , Gal Costa , Gilberto Gil , among others.
On the next year he put up the band "Mae da Rua" , now being the front man. After a year they signed with the label Dubas/WEA to release a re-edition of the first album. Mae da Rua played at great events in cities as : Florianopolis-SC , Lages SC , Caxias do Sul-RS , Montes ClarosMG, Ponta Grossa- PR , among others.
On the new millennium, Andre Rafael started his solo career. As a development in his musicality, the artist recorded a surprising album. Keeping his romantic feeling, Andre turned up the electric guitars sound , mixing it with grooves , strings and horns sections. The result is a pop record that captures also the romantic spirit of the singer.
To mix the album , Andre invited Eddie Kramer, a recording engineer that worked with major artists like Kiss, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and many others. Eddie mixed 7 songs.

On his secound solo album , "Na manha do outro dia" , Andre brings back percussives elements from 'world music" mixing them with his rock influences , that can be heard in songs as " A brisa , o vento e o alvo" and "Duvida".

What can be heard when listening the album is that Andre is not searching for the easy success. Is options is to show each one of his influences , that are not few.

As a producer , Andre worked with independents artists and bands , like Down Jones , Poesia de Gaia , Sayowa , Mongol , Taska , and with Marcelo Bonfa , former drummer of Legiao Urbana.
