Chris Bowen is Director, Dance and Music at Arts Queensland, the State Government's arts funding and advisory body. He has had a career in arts programming and management spanning more than 20 years in three states. Chris was Director of Brisbane Ethnic Music and Arts Centre where he spent six years developing that organisation into a leading multicultural arts centre. His specialist areas are world music and contemporary performing arts, and he has produced and presented dozens of world music concerts, festivals, residencies, workshops and recordings in Brisbane. Chris has been General Manager of Brisbane Powerhouse (and also oversaw the development of that facility for Brisbane City Council) and the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts, Brisbane's two major mid size performing arts centres.
