Yanira Martinez Arango
Musicologist, pianist, teacher and producer.Her interests as a researcher have been directed to the field of cultural industries, more specifically, the phonographic industry, an issue she has addressed in her graduation thesis. She has simultaneously worked with the integration of the researches in the areas of ethnomusicology and music industry working to Abdala Productions, and also working for Colibrí Productions. She works also for the Department of Fundamental Researches at the Cuban Music Research and Development Center (CIDMUC).
Her comments, critical reviews, interviews and essays have been published in magazines She has also collaborated with the record notes for phonograms of new artists and in the production of phonographic projects.
She has taken part in national and international events, in Cuba as in foreign countries.
She is a member of the Spanish Society of Musicology (SEDEM), of the Latin-American Branch of the International Association for the Study of the Popular Music (IASPM-AL), of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) and of the Committee of the CUBADISCO Award.
