Riccardo Tesi & Banditaliana

Banditaliana, one of the most renowned Italian groups on the world music international scene, from its outset has been offering a magical fusion of Tuscan traditional forms and rites, jazz nuances and songs, a fresh, sunny music with a Mediterranean scent and no boundaries.
Original compositions, instrumental virtuosity, precious rhythmical joints and refined arrangements are the stylistic key features of the group and have been a great success in the most important folk & jazz festivals around Europe, Japan, Australia and Canada.
Banditaliana was founded in 1992 by the composer and diatonic accordion player Riccardo Tesi, rated as one of the most daring and authoritative musicians in the European world music sceneGuitar virtuoso and vocalist Maurizio Geri, whose style blends Mediterranean features with swing-manouche improvisation, and saxophonist Claudio Carboni, whose clean and accurate phrasing was developed through his time spent playing music in the ballo liscio (Italian popular dance music) tradition, have been members of the band since its debut . Recently joining the band as their new eccentric and creative percussionist : “fast foot “Gigi Biolcati, replaced previous member Ettore Bonafè.
