Nawal lives in France and, today, is recognised as being a key figure in her native island, who, clearly, has found her voice: the star of the Comoros is at her peak.

Between tradition and modernity, her resolutely acoustic and mystical music weaves a harmonious dialogue between Indo-Arabo-Persian cultures, Bantu polyphony, Sufi singing and the syncopated rhythms of the Indian Ocean.

Nawal sees herself as a woman with a joint cultural identity. She writes her own lyrics and music, sings and plays the quanbus, an emblematic instrument of the island originally from Yemen. She has been performing all over the world for more than 20 years.

Nawal also offers a show with six Comoros choristers, "Les Femmes de la Lune" (the term which refers to these African islands). Their musical complicity and a shared commitment to the feminine condition have led them to work together to present an emancipation project for these women through Art.

Nawal reside en France et apparait aujourd'hui comme une figure marquante de son archipel natal, qui manifestement a trouve sa voix : l'etoile des Comores est au zenith.

Entre traditionnelle et contemporaine, sa musique, resolument acoustique et mystique, tisse un harmonieux dialogue entre les cultures indo-arabo-persanes, les polyphonies bantoues, les chants soufis, et les rythmes syncopes de l'ocean Indien.
Nawal se considere comme une femme a la double appartenance culturelle, signe textes et musique, chante et joue du gambusi, instrument emblematique de l'archipel et originaire du Yemen.

Depuis plus de 20 ans, elle se produit sur scene aux quatre coins du monde.

Nawal propose egalement un spectacle avec six choristes des Comores, les femmes de la Lune" (terme designant ces iles africaines). De leur complicite musicale et d'un engagement commun vis-a-vis de la condition feminine, est nee l'envie de presenter ensemble un projet d'emancipation pour ces femmes a travers l'Art.
