The instrument gallery of Marla Leigh's
music consists of drums from India, Middle
East and Africa combined with instruments
such as didgeridoo, jaw harp, flute, voice
and live electronica n' beats. Synthesize
this with funky meters and polyrhythmic
grooves and you begin to have the essence
of this music.
Marla also performs as a soloist, using a
uniqu hybrid drumset featuring world
percussion instruments. She has performed
throughout the USA, Canada and Bali and
also teaches drumming retreats worldwide.
Based in Los Angeles, California, Marla has
studied with some of the finest masters
around, inluding Glen Velez, Pandit Swapan
