ANDY MANNDORFF was born in Vienna. Lived and worked in Amsterdam from 1980 to 1987, then in New York until 1994. Since 1995 his base of operation once again has been Vienna.
With his stunning and headstrong playing technique Manndorff has developed an unmistakable style. Guitarist Andy Manndorff is one of the most interesting and innovating Austrian musicians, a true stylist who has designed something like his own musical language.
Since his return to Vienna Andy Manndorff has concentrated on his own projects, from solo performances to projects that deal with a tightrope walk between composition and spontaneous intuition.
In whatever musical idiom Andy Manndorff moves, he never loses himself in virtuosity as an end in itself. He is always mindful to leave himself and his musicians enough space to explore new paths and byways.
Swedish born MOA JANES, now living in Autria-Vienna, is working as a singer, composer & graphic designer. She studied violin in Sweden, later Jazz & POP singing in Vienna.
In her early age she was exposed to most traditional swedish folk music which is closely entangled with the swedish poetry as well as to the greatest swedish troubadours. After the relocation to Austria in 1989, the question of the linguistic identity and the cultural belonging led her closer and closer to her own origin and further more to an own songful language. Also the influence of Artists like Cornelis Vreeswijk, Jan Johansson, Paul Simon and Beth Gibbons have shaped her music, while melodies and the rhythmic flood of the lyric-text of her songs are significant. The collaboration with Andy Manndorff started in April 2011.
Since then they both have been working an acoustic Duo programme, as well as with the "ANDY MANNDORFF TRIO", Andy Manndorff (acoustic and electro git), Lukas Kranzelbinder (b), Michael Prowaznik (dr).
