SOULMOTION
Known and yet new and different. A song, heard so many times, have become an integral part of me, of us, something forgotten suddenly lives again as if by a miracle in an incredible performance. A women's voice and bass, crazy
"... as long as I sing, so long I exist, past friends, future friends, remember me by my songs..." The lyrics already so settled in me have become my life motto. My memories go to YU-rock and pop music of the 70 - and -80, and everything comes alive again solely by the voice of Natasa Mirkovic and the bass of Nenad Vasilic.
Miroslav Prstojevic; writer
With their recent project "SOUL MOTION" Bosnian singer Natasa Mirkovic and Serbian bass-player Nenad Vasilic trigger memories of Yugoslavian Rock-and Pop-music from '70, '80ies and 90ies.
Their personal selection of favourite songs gets a new shape like CHANSONS through their personal line-up: voice & double bass
"However, some 60s, 70s, 80s and beginning of the 90s in YU territories were some good realities. Those were the times of some young, avantguard, brave, non-limiting investigations in arts, culture. Sarajevo was geographic center of the country, but also and the center of the music and the cinematographic creativity, something new and fresh was being born and leaving Sarajevo, but also in Zagreb, Belgrade, Skopje. Years were going by, have gone by. And we did not even realize because we were too busy heading toward the places where people were creating, performing, going crazy...."
Natasa Mirkovic and Nenad Vasilic latest work is a renewed proof - if it does require one at all - for the tremendous musicality and creative curiosity with which the two explore various areas of music. The new album "Soul motion" contains songs of timeless beauty, sung by Natasa Mirkovic - often reticent and yet with enormous intensity - and accompanied by sensitive double-bass player Nenad Vasilics. One can hardly believe that it concerns hits of their homeland from the 70s and 80s, which Natasa Mirkovic and Nenad Vasilic have released from all ballast and have invented so virtually anew.

Pathos, enriched by jazz
Natasa Mirkovic and Nenad Vasilic reduce the songs to their structural essence and break them down to a slim conceivable Instrumentation: voice and double-bass. In this way, the musical substance of some kitschy, songs in a pathos style is transformed in songs in a jazzy, sleek chamber pop style. This is music that you have never heard before.
Andeas Felber - Journalist/ORF - Oe1, Der Standard, Der Falter
This is when two lost souls meet at a rollicking party on the highway of life. The cars and the years roar incessantly through them through. Nevertheless, listener should not worry about the health of the interpreters: As if by magic, they dance and sing through the grief, the pain, the love and the songs. Feeling good and protected I can let myself go without any fear and completely detached.
Ernst M. Binder - writer, director
