Magnolia is a velvety and furious Jazz quartet with a repertoire of own tunes rooted in American popular music tradition.
They first record “That’s a Plenty” was recorded live at the mythic Jazz Temple of Barcelona, Jamboree, with a festive spirit and soaked of Broadway’s landscapes where cinema and jazz get irremissibly together in a torrid and sophisticated atmosphere, preceded their appearance in Antonio Chavarria’s film “The Chosen” ...this is the flame that lights the current repertoire of own tunes such as “To Send My Love” and “Get Out The Door” that start the path that has led to the launch of their first studio record and the second one of their career “This Joint’s Too Hip For Me”, an adventure with the label Freshsound.
The record is a fresh rain of own tunes and antique scents. A Jazz record with a theme that takes from blues the vocal personality and the irony ... failed relationships and burned toast early in the morning, mistakes that are hard to not commit ... “cry tomorrow, laugh today!”... , emotion and freedom ... funerals for romantic love as we know it and happiness for the real love... of life with its own marvelous conflicts.
