Based in Toronto, I am - or have been at various times - a writer, performer, producer, educator & presenter of music. I started out in the in production end of the concert business at Massey Hall/Roy Thomson Hall, then worked at Harbourfront Centre as Music Programming assistant before taking a position at SOCAN (Canada's PRO). I gave lots of talks, seminars, courses on music business stuff there & in various college music programs where I've been part-time faculty.
I like to touch a guitar when I can - somewhere in between gainful employment, I recorded & toured with a band. We were nominated for some awards, including a Juno (Canadian Grammy).
Other than that: much time spent at festivals, shows, conferences, airports, and highways. I've been on the boards of a couple of music-related arts service organizations and on the juries of numerous Canadian music funding and award organizations.
