Founder and director of Caribbean Music Group and Maturity Productions, based in Trinidad for the past 20 years, Jean Michel Gibert first created the label "Rituals Music" with a large catalogue of Caribbean music with major international hits (Follow The Leader, Sweet Soca Music, Nookie).

In 2004, his activities were completed by film production and he co-produced the 90 minute documentary "Calypso @ Dirty Jim's" which was awarded at many international festivals (check http://www.calypso-at-dirty-jims.com ).

The film was followed by "Soca Power in Trinidad and Tobago", a 60 minute film with Trace TV and the EU.

In 2008, he ventured in the digital world with the creation of trinidadtunes.com, the first legal download site, strong of the largest repertoire of Trinidad and fast growing towards being the number one Caribbean site.

His upcoming project "Calypso Rose the Lioness of the Jungle" is a biopic about Calypso Rose, an artist from his label signed to Harmonia Mundi (for Europe) already filmed and ready for release.

In development is an eco-documentary "The Earthman and the Turtles", a discovery film "Naked In Hell's Valley", a docufilm on the steelbands of Trinidad and Tobago "Pan We Are The World" and his first feature fiction "A Thirst For Rain" with Venezuelan director Michael New adapted from a novel by Roslyn Carrington.

"Promoting Caribbean culture internationally with innovative, multimedia, digital and collaborative approach " is his motto.
